About Us
Troop 535 Vision
"Our boys will become more confident and better prepared for life as young adults."
Troop 535 Mission
The mission of Troop 535 is to provide a program that teaches citizenship, leadership, fitness, and outdoor skills by utilizing the tools and guidelines of the Boy Scout Program. The Program provides the Scouts the opportunity to set their own goals, work toward them, and regularly measure their personal results against these standards. Incorporating frequent training opportunities, our boys are challenged to utilize the Patrol Method, to learn leadership skills and teamwork, and bring their own selected events outdoors, the place where Scouting is intended to occur. The Patrol Method established a “structure” which encourages the Scouts to organize themselves, set their goals, and plan the activities that they have chosen to achieve their desired results. Then individually and collectively, they may judge their own performance against their own objectives.
Troop 535 Organization and Statistics
Troop 535 has over 50 active Boy Scouts plus adults. We are based in Bothell Washington. Our adult leadership frame consists of the Committee Chairman, the Scoutmaster, and eight Assistant Scoutmasters. Each of the Assistant Scoutmasters is assigned to a patrol and acts as the patrol advisor. A new Assistant Scoutmaster is recruited when a new patrol is formed due to new incoming Scouts.
Our History
Troop 535 was born on May 3rd, 2005, hence the numbering 5-3-5. Our Troop has been very productive and has produced many Eagle Scouts since we started. In addition, we have recruited dozens of new Scouts into our program since our founding. We are thankful to be chartered by the Bothell Son's of Norway lodge.
